Six steps to reduce buttock pain
Firstly, choose a suitable saddle. The buttock differs from individuals so there is no saddle to fit all. It’s silly to think that the large and thick saddle fit the buttock most. In contrast, those thin and slender saddles are sometimes more comfortable. Although with the passage of time the saddle will gradually deform to fit your butt, it indicates precisely that the saddle was not originally suited for your butt, which will induce the back and lumbosacral pain.
Secondly, check the position of the saddle. Adjust the bike carefully and correctly. In particular, a suitable height of the saddle often produces an obvious improvement of riding experience and prevents you from leaning forward or backward on the saddle.
Thirdly, feel if the saddle is comfortable carefully. If your lower back starts to get a stiff feeling, the harm the saddle brings about then cannot be ignored. It’s wrong to think that you will get an “ironic butt” gradually and become accustomed to the feeling sooner or later. An overlook of the dangerous signals your body sends will lead to more serious consequences.
Fourthly, lift the buttocks from the saddle. Even if you are not climbing, standing up to leave the saddle every 10-15 minutes to will help your blood flow smoothly.
Fifthly, wear the right clothing. A pair of fitted riding pants with a cushion will play a protective part in your cycling, and the application of some skin cream can further reduce frictions and thus protect you.
Sixthly, observe good personal hygiene. It can prevent the occurrence of various bacterial infections. Ride with clean riding pants every time and avoid sitting casually when the sweats soak the riding pants. Some skin creams contain antibacterial ingredients such as extracts of various herbs.
